See Every Building's Flexibility, Live, without Touching a Log File

The flexibility a community can offer the grid is already being calculated, continuously, on edge devices. The problem has always been getting that answer in front of the people who need it. P2X’s Optimisation Dashboard turns those results into building-level cards anyone can read, updated in real time.

Challenge

A flexibility aggregator needs to know, right now, how much flexibility an energy community can actually offer: which buildings can reduce consumption, which batteries can discharge, and what the aggregate capacity adds up to. That information is already being computed by optimisation services running on edge devices, but the results sit in log files or Kafka topics that require technical expertise to read.

There has been no operational dashboard a non-technical stakeholder could open to monitor flexibility in real time, which means every question about current capacity turns into a request to a technical team or a manual log parse.

Solution

The operator opens the Optimisation Dashboard, where five building cards start out empty, then clicks Connect to Dataspace and enters the connector endpoint URL, the same connector infrastructure that already powers real-time telemetry. Once the button turns green to show Connector Live, each card fills in with real-time optimisation results: flexibility capacity, battery state of charge, charge and discharge actions, grid exchange volumes, and a countdown to the next flexibility event.

Three charts per building add historical context: flexibility capacity over time, grid exchange patterns, and battery state-of-charge trajectory, so the operator can see at a glance which buildings have room to flex and which are constrained. That view feeds directly into grid balancing decisions or flexibility market bids, and clicking Connector Live again simply stops the feed when the observation period is done. The underlying MPC optimisation runs automatically on the edge the whole time. The dashboard is just a window into decisions that are already being made continuously.

Benefits

Skip the Log Files and Kafka Topics

Flexibility results that used to require technical access to parse now appear as readable building cards, no log-reading skills needed.

Give Non-Technical Stakeholders Direct Access

An operator or analyst can monitor flexibility in real time without a technical team as a middle step between the data and the decision.

See Which Buildings Can Flex, At a Glance

Per-building charts for flexibility capacity, grid exchange, and battery state make it immediately clear which sites have room to move and which are constrained.

One URL Powers Both Telemetry and Optimisation

The same connector endpoint that streams live telemetry also delivers optimisation results, so there is nothing extra to configure.

Confirm the Optimisation Is Actually Working

Battery state-of-charge trajectories spanning the full admissible range, and thousands of optimisation cycles visualised over a testing period, show the system is actively optimising rather than idling.

Add a New Community by Changing One URL

Bringing a new energy community onto the dashboard is a matter of entering a different connector endpoint, not building a new integration.
